You’re tuned in to hip hop dance tutorial Thursday where you’ll learn epic new dance concept to add to your freestyle or hip hop choreography. Today, we’re going to be learning some footwork inspired by Elvis. Before we get started, I’m going to let you know how you can get the hook ups on this dope shirt plus lots more that are hand drawn by really dope artists. Company’s called the Modern Vintage Company. They have been grateful enough to sponsor this tutorial so shout out to them. They’re a small company based out of UK. And their clothing and apparel of items are so, so sick. I’m going to let you know how you can get the hook ups after out tutorial plus discount too. So let’s stretch out, let’s get started. So first of all, to those of you who don’t know who Elvis is, stop this video, search him up. This guy is one of the funkiest, funkiest guy, you would have no idea and an awesome dancer. So, his style of dancing was a lot of kind of grooving. We’re going to do that first, and then I’m going to show you how you can incorporate in your popping, alright? So for this first step, we’re going to take a step out coming in, take another step out. Now every time we take a step out, that’s where we’re actually going to be doing our hit… pop… pop. Your hands are free to move wherever. I mean, you can move to the side, move front, put both of them out. So your hands are free. You’re just trying to keep the steps going. A lot of problem a lot of dancers have is they stay right here, and they do not move, they just stay. So, having this nice little step will let us kind of move a little bit and still keep the pattern while we hit. So that second kind of grooving move is using both these knees to wiggle at the same time. We’re going to do that from a standing position and we’re going to go low and kind of sink to almost like a sitting position. So right here, really slow is we got that groove, we just kind of move it left to right. So I’m going to go hit, or dimestop, and I’m really moving in until I get to right here. And then I can kind of do the same thing as I pull up. So let’s try that again, you’re dancing, popping and then you’re using your knees to pivot, come down. So it’s like you’re doing a robot shutdown. Except that the robot shutdown, you’re using the upper body. This time, you’re using your legs. Now this third concept’s probably Elvis’ way more complicated move where he’s coming in, he’s switching his legs. Now every time we do that, now we’re going to incorporate popping here… pop… pop… pop… pop. And then, I want you to combine all three. So let’s start from right here, we’ll go pop… pop… step, step… wiggle down… wiggle up. Let’s try again. We got in… in… pop… pop… step, step, step, step… and down and up. So now you know how to dance like Elvis in a robot form. I want you to practice these move. I want you to add ‘em in your freestyle. It does no good just to watch this tutorial. You really got to practice and do every single one and use those feet. Quit standing around and do the robot. Move around. By the way, I know you guys are wanting some hook ups.
